What's Your Favorite Memory Of Your Childhood Home?

Congratulations to the winner.
Here's what she wrote...
I grew up in a house that was over 100 years old. It had a
warm feeling that I have never quite found in any home since.
When I think of our old house, I always remember "taking a nap"
in my room. I was probably about 4 or so, and it was a perfect
summer day. The sun was drifting in through the sheer curtains
in my room, and there was a slight breeze blowing through the
open window. We had two tall trees outside that my brother and
I, luckily, never got caught climbing, and the birds loved to
nest in them. I laid in the bed, watching the sunlight move
over the walls, and listened to the birds singing. I had such
a strong feeling of peace and contentment. It is not only a
favorite memory of my childhood home, but to me it captured the
essence of my childhood.
