We've been entertaining at home for awhile; not only do we save money, but we feel the quality of the time with friends is enhanced thanks to the ability to truly linger. I also love dreaming up new meals to serve and ways of presenting them, so it's fun too!

One of my favorite meals we entertained with this winter centered around a Colombian chicken stew I tried. The ingredients were readily available and cost effective, but the layering of flavors ended up being complex, elevating the main element of the meal to something more sophisticated than a simple 'chicken stew.' It ended up being a conversation piece and everybody wanted a copy of the recipe afterwards.
