When I think about my home I think about both beauty and comfort. Of course the funiture needs to be comfortable to sit on and arranged in a manner that promotes good communication and conversation, as well as needing comfort in my bedroom for sleep and down time. But, I also like to see beautiful things and I enjoy color and balance. When something is out of scale, it makes me uncomfortable to the extent that I feel the need to fix it! In addition, the placement of my "treasures" is important in how I "feel" about my space. So, I don't think I can separate beauty from comfort. It's not just about physical comfort. It's emotional comfort as well.
